Inspired by the locale, Senior Decorating Editor Robin Mayer chose a sky- and water-themed palette.

Buttery-colored paint highlights the living room architectural details, from the coffered ceiling to the reeded mantel.




Fresh roses and hydrangea line the mantel.



Blue and cream wallpaper from Farrow and Ball backs the built-in shelves, and is a subtle introduction of pattern into the space.

Built-in bookcases filled with collections are a small detail that adds custom style to the space.



Faux-bois accents and live plants bring nature indoors and onto this table, separating the living and dining rooms.



Layered rugs add texture to the living room. The bottom layer is a family-friendly sisal, softened by rag rugs on top.




Transom windows provide a visually defining element within the open floorplan.



The grid of art hanging over the mantle adds to the room's symmetrical feel.
