Pink Rose Slippers

Anna Florio's passion is anything but contained. For her, more is better, and she always has a place for the newest find that answers her addiction. She scours Florida well beyond her Boca Raton base, navigates eBay, and checks in at Home Goods and Target for everything that’s coming up roses.











Roses in a Pitcher

Anna and her sister Mary, a veteran of the Florida antiques scene, opened (in nearby Coral Springs) Cottage Rose Accents, a largely vintage consignment store where most everything is pretty, frilly, and affordable. And even though she is now in the business of selling beautiful objects, she still finds time and space to freshen up her private collection.












Living Room Wallpaper

In Anna's living room, a swag-adelic wallpaper from Laura Ashley is an appropriate backdrop for the layering of rose motifs – on upholstery, porcelain, and various girly goods. She provides just enough breathing room by mixing in white-painted furniture and accessories, such as the cherubic lamp and frame.













China Cupboard

After Anna glued rose chintz fabric to a cupboard, she primed it for display. Anna intersperses postcards and photos, like the one of her parents on their wedding day, among the china.














Rose-Patterned Footstools

Footstools and benches make handy pull up seats. The top one, recovered and trimmed with lace, belonged to Anna's grandmother.















Antique Book

An old copy of Rudyard Kipling's Plain Tales from the Hills finds a place on a bark cloth-clad footstool. Anna topped it with a millinery blossom.















Home Accents

Anna's rose-obsessed point of view unfolds throughout the house, even with a rose garland draped over a pair of pantaloons in her bedroom.















Party Hat

Anna requires tea party guests to dress up in one of her many festive hats; she also wears one at the shop.

One neighbor's trash can be another's treasure; Anna inherited this rocker from next door and then skirted it with an old tablecloth.
