Give an old lamp a facelift in less than half an hour. Shed new light on the situation by giving a lampshade a much needed redo. A few simple steps and a little bit of time is all that's required.
You will need:
- Crystal Lampshade Trim
- Plain lampshade, coloured or white
- Art paper in a design or colour of your choice
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Spray adhesive
- Vintage chandelier crystals (or similar decorative elements with holes for hanging)
Here's how:
1. Lay the lampshade on its side atop a piece of art paper. Roll shade over paper, tracing along the top and bottom as you go.
2. Test paper over shade.
3. Cut ends so they overlap 15mm.
4. Spray wrong side of paper with spray adhesive.
5. Centre paper around shade and smooth out, overlapping ends and folding top and bottom edges to the shade's interior.
6. Hang vintage chandelier crystals from holes pierced through bottom of shade.
