If you want to update a plain white bathroom without ripping out all the tiles, try this mosaic tile effect to add splashes of bright colour to the room.
You will need: Mosiac tiles Plain white wall tiles (the same size or smaller than the mosaic sheets) Graph paper and pencil Scissors Waterproof tile adhesive Spreader Tile spacers Waterproof tile grout Sponge
Here's how: 1. First decide how many mosaic squares you want in relation to the number of white tiles. Plan your design on a piece of graph paper and use this as a guide while you are tiling.
2. Mosaic tiles comes in different sizes and are usually mounted on a sheet of paper or mesh backing. This makes tiling much easier. Measure the dimensions of your plain tiles and cut the required number of mosaic sheets to the same size.
3. Apply adhesive to a small area of the wall using the adhesive spreader. This will ensure that exactly the right amount of adhesive is used. Press the first plain tile into position and insert tile spacers. Using spacers will ensure that the spaces between all the tiles are equal.
4. Continue applying adhesive and positioning the tiles, inserting a mosaic sheet where required in exactly the same way.
5. Leave the adhesive to dry according to the manufacturer's instructions, then apply grout to all the spaces between the tiles and mosaics. Wipe off any excess with a damp sponge and leave to dry. To finish the job, polish the tiles with a clean, dry coarse cloth.
